Purpose: Imparting a Sustaining Word to the Weary
Years ago, the Holy Spirit directed me to write a purpose statement for my life. Part of that statement came from Isaiah 50:4. The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. Through the years during my morning time with the LORD, He would often give me an encouraging thought from a particular scripture. Always during that same day, I would encounter someone who was ‘weary’ and needed a word to sustain him or her. At the beginning of 2011, I felt impressed to include a short insert in our church bulletin called The Sustaining Word. People began asking if I would e-mail it to a friend or family member. Soon I had a sizable database of individuals that I e-mailed on Monday morning. My son suggested that I create an internet bog. So this website is the result of that.
My prayer is that you will receive a word that will sustain you through your week.
