After God’s call into ministry in 1976, Dr. Gause left his radio/TV engineering career to attend Holmes College of Bible in Greenville, SC. He along with his wife Donna and their eighteen-month-old son, Stephen sold their home, packed up their belongings and began a journey they have never regretted. While he and Donna attended Bible College, they began sensing the call into foreign missions. After graduation, they pastored two churches while he attended Columbia International University in the Master of Arts program studying Cross-cultural Communication. In 1982 after raising their support, the family, which now included a daughter, Sarah, flew off to Zambia, Central Africa. In Zambia, they founded, directed, and taught in four “Theological Education by Extension” centers. Utilizing the students, they planted an English speaking church. Dr. Gause also served as an Adjunct Professor in two Bible Colleges and taught numerous seminars in Malawi, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. They returned to South Carolina in 1986. Because he had suffered with a difficult bout of Malaria and with several complications, he and Donna decided they should not return to Africa at that time. Eight months after coming back to USA, God blessed them with their third child, Timothy. Donna continued her nursing career and he continued his education at Columbia International University earning a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry in Missions.
Since completing his education, Dr. Gause has severed as Associate Pastor in several churches in South Carolina, and continued to travel worldwide in thirty-two countries. He severed as a non-resident professor at Biblical University of Bucharest in Romania for ten years and at Life University in West Africa for five years. He served as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia International University and full-time professor at All Saints Bible College in Memphis.
In 2004, Dr. Gause was approach by the Dean of W.L. Bonner College in Columbia, about teaching as an Adjunct Professor. In January 2006, Dr. Gause became a full-time professor and in 2007 he was named as Faculty Chairman.
Donna continues in the field of nursing as an instructor after completing a Masters Degree in nursing. Dr. Gause enjoys deer hunting, woodworking, and fishing with his wife. Their oldest son, Stephen, his wife, and twin daughters live in Nashville. Sarah, her husband, two sons, and a daughter live in Newberry, SC. Timothy and his wife live and work in Rockhill, SC.
Dr. Gause has retired from seminary teaching now devoting full-time to writing and to directing Increase Ministries.
